A spontaneous idea, born of the waters of the buda toilet

Today I was washing my hands next to our teacher Koen in the buda toilet. We all know that the water taps have a sense of rhythm. Then Koen said to me while laughing "you could make an installation out of it". - Can I?

But maybe I can make an installation with the buda toilet water taps. There could be a sound sensor listening to each tap. Using A.I. and a trained sound model, I could find out the frequencies/tones of each tap.

Based on the frequencies, I can then link lights. These can be led strips, or strobe lights. For example, at a high frequency a strobe light will blink faster. I can also add an instrument (e.g. a drum kit) that makes sounds in the same rhythm as the crane. A second tap can be a trumpet, a guitar,...

One advantage of this concept, is that this installation has a larger purpose: to encourage people to wash their hands (correctly). Certain events can be triggered if they do not use soap, or if they do not wash their hands long enough. Or they leave the tap open too long, which is not good for nature.

There are also a few drawbacks to this idea: it is practically difficult to implement, there are no electrical outlets, there may be too much background noise, there may be water splashing on the sensors. And maybe the light/sound show is not appreciated by other people in the restroom.

And of course, credits to Koen for planting this seed in my head.
